Throughout its operations, SNAX 24 is committed to the philosophy of "hands on" management control, coupled with strong financial and operating information systems. Constant attention to detail and rigorous management supervision ensures the maintenance of the high standards and goals for which SNAX 24 strives.
Senior management carries out regular site inspections, ensuring that all aspects of the operation are functioning properly. The resulting report is circulated to the rest of the management team and departments so that the problems identified can be dealt with quickly and effectively.
The inspections also provide an opportunity for the senior management to meet the people on the shop floor, giving site staff the opportunity to raise any points of concern or suggestions they might have.
This process allows senior management the opportunity to gauge the caliber of the site staff as well as a clear appreciation of the operating standards. With the average site costing approximately £1m to build, maintenance and repairs are a priority.
SNAX 24 employs two full time maintenance crews so that the repairs can be carried out quickly and with the minimum disruption to the operation. This way, not only are maintenance bills kept to a minimum as outside contractors are rarely needed, the overall operating standard of the facility is maintained to a high standard, thus deterring further acts of vandalism. This policy is particularly effective in the inner cities where normal levels of vandalism deter many other retailers.
